This style of dress was made popular in the 60′s with the mod look that countered the 50′s fit and flare silhouette. A shift dress can be styled down for day with flats for running around town, dressed up for the perfect office friendly look and can also easily transition to sexy and cool for evening. The shift dress is classic, elegant and so simple to wear regardless of your personal taste or lifestyle. Chambray is that great lightweight fabric that resembles denim but its softer and perhaps more versatile…. Where as denim is reserved for jeans, jackets and skirts chambray give that effortless relaxed look to shirts, dresses and even joggers… We are at that weird point in the season where its crazy hot out, but fall clothes are hitting the shops so its time to talk about transitional pieces… Chambray items transition easily from summer to fall making this the perfect time for it. MOMMA LOVES… a bit of off the shoulder action

The off the shoulder look gives you an old hollywood feel that is sexy yet entirely elegant.

At a time when the plunging v-neck and the crop top are in abundance I prefer a bit of off the shoulder… I’m not an old lady but lord knows I’m too old to show too much skin and there is something subtle, yet sexy, yet conservative about showing some shoulder. MOMMA NEEDS… pajamas (b/c bedtime should look good too)

Bedtime should look good too!! Time for some great pajamas for both us and our little ones!

There is one area of my wardrobe I need to focus more attention on – my pajamas… You spend a large amount of time out of every day in them and yet I find myself sticking to my husband’s old t’s and underwear…. While this is comfortable and easy, its time for me to grow up and look into getting some real big girl pajamas. My little one looks so adorable in his jammies so, why can’t I? Something soft and comfortable that doesn’t look like it should be used to clean the house… There is nothing quite like a lazy sunday morning eating breakfast in bed and not getting out of our pajamas until noon so they may as well be cute, right? MOMMA LOVES… fit and flare dresses

My favorite little fit and flare dress is the perfect look for the rare occasion called – date night!

The hour glass silhouette defines femininity and nothing accomplishes this look better than fit and flare dresses. I love a great colorful jacket for adding a pop to an otherwise neutral look!

Two of my style favorites are jackets and a pop of color so colorful jackets always capture my attention. I am a fashion girl so I generally stick to a pretty neutral palette of black, white and gray but I have to say, nothing breathes life into a look than an amazing pinch of bright. My bi-monthly under $100 is all about getting great style on budget that keeps you looking great without breaking the bank. Life is expensive and, for those of us with kids, our wants go way on the back burner in favor of our little one’s needs (and wants), so finding the clothes and accessories we covet without having to pay the big price tags is major.
