MOMMA LOVES… wide leg pants (for a change)

I am obsessed with these Zara wide leg pants – they have the feel of a maxi skirt but the mobility of pants!

No problem chasing you know who around in these pants! And I absolutely love the way they move!

And these pants have hidden slits up them for when you feel like showing a little leg!

One of my favorite trends of late are super wide leg pants. You can call them palazzo pants or even skirt pants but whatever you call them, they are SO incredibly comfortable and elegant that you will never want to put on anything else! These wide leg pants glide with the flare of a mazi skirt but with the mobility an feel or pajamas. They can take you effortlessly from the office to the playground to date night with a few simple accessory changes. The versatility of these wide leg pants make them a true must have and the added bonus is that they will transition easily for fall! The key is to pair them with something more body conscious, tailored or even slightly cropped on top to balance the volume – and as simple as that – you have a perfect outfit! MOMMA LOVES… camisoles – the perfect summer sleeveless!

Camisoles in summer time are part of the seasonal uniform.

Camisoles are not just for layering anymore – they are, in fact, the ideal summer top! Camisoles are essentially sleeveless, lightweight blouses – they can be more lingerie like but there are so many more variations to keep you cool and feminine in the warm weather. Of course, this post must come with the caveat that the slinkier sexier camisoles should be layered for the office – if it looks like underwear – that’s wear it belongs in a professional setting. That said, camisoles can look amazing paired with anything from distressed denim to maxi skirts to a sexy mini for evening. When the weather gets hot – who wants to wear sleeves – camis give you that refined feminine alternative to basic tanks. MOMMA LOVES… midi skirts with a feminine flare!

I absolutely LOVE these Asos midi skirts – they come in tons of colors and add instant elegance and flare to your look!

Max likes them too because they don’t restrict me from properly playing/dancing with him (although the shoes are another story).

I have talked about maxis and minis but there’s a new length in town – it’s midi skirts that are pretty, polished and poised to grab some attention. MATERNITY MONDAY… non maternity clothes to wear during pregnancy

MOMMA LOVES… a distressed tee

Life with kids is far from pristine – I had just taken off Max’s pants, socks and shoes after a romp in the mud – so I’m grateful for a distressed tee that is both fashionable and sensible for tackling whatever my little guy throws my way…

T-shirts are a wardrobe staple and the distressed tee is one of my favorite versions of the old classic. No, your parents will never understand them, but as a parent they allow me to feel comfortable, stylish and not at all precious about what I’m wearing during my rough and tumble life with a toddler. A distressed tee may translate to a few holes, cutouts, complete tatters, or just a bid of fading.. The tears can be finished or frayed but the look is done undone and its a perfect go to for your casual look. In fact, I remember in my early 20′s buying brand new tees and cutting them up, resewing them, and leaving jagged edges to get the undone look – and now we don’t have to put in all that effort because the deconstruction has been done for us by the designers themselves. Designers such as LNA are absolutely killing it with some of the best, most interesting tees on the market by not being perfect but rather being interesting, unique and with the perfect t-shirt fit! Whether you’re just running errands, hanging out at home or taking a trip to the park, the distressed tee gives us the fashionable freedom to embrace our relaxed come what may lifestyle without sacrificing our personal style! MOMMA NEEDS… denim shorts for us & our little ones!

Summertime means popsicles, the outdoors and relaxation – denim shorts are my weekend uniform… and Max looks pretty adorable in them too!

Summer months mean its too hot for our tried and true blue jeans – so denim shorts are the way to go for running errands to poolside barbecues. Whether your prefer classic, colored, distressed, cut offs or cuffed – denim shorts are the easy breezy styling option to go with your favorite tanks and tees. MOMMA LOVES…. mixed media clothing

My favorite Clu mixed media tee – perfect for when I just want to be comfy but also look like I’m putting in more effort than I am….

Last week I focused on the accessories but mixed media clothing is just as prevalent and fabulous. I’m talking about leather and lace, cotton and silk – all those unexpected combinations that make an item that much more interesting. MOMMA LOVES… skorts – party in the front business in the back!

I have to say – I do love my new Zara skorts – they tick all my boxes – ready for a summer party in the front

But all business (or at least ready for a run around with my little guy) in the back!

I have done my posts on mini skirts and shorts so now comes one of my favorite new trends – skorts which are everywhere right now! Skorts give you the pretty polish of a skirt with the sensible wearabiity of shorts, basically its a fashion win win! Great for when you want to look more pulled together but with more flexibility. I love my skorts because they are so versatile – I can literally go from chasing my son around the garden to brunch with girlfriends and even a night out. I remember wearing them during my childhood because it gives that girly appearance while still allowing me to climb the jungle gym and keep up with the boys on my bike and now I can have that the best of both worlds with summer’s hot new bottoms.
