MOMMA LOVES… overalls for comfort & style

In the last few years we’ve seen overalls go from the down on the farm to favorite among the fashion elite. MOMMA LOVES… pajama style pants

It was labor day yesterday… So max and I didn’t want to get out of our pajamas…

So we put on our favorite pajama style pants

So we could look cool and still be comfortable all day…

I am absolutely obsessed with the pajama style pants trend that it not only incredibly comfortable but super chic and stylish too! MOMMA NEEDS… transitional knits

I am obsessed with my new ALC sweater – its the perfect transitional knit! I guess it’s time to get ready for fall!

I actually look forward to wearing knits and jackets (this is southern California so nothing much heavier for us)!

But we’re still going to soak in every bit of summer we have left!

Its that time of year again, when there are a few summer bits left on the sale racks and fall fashion is in full bloom – so it’s time to start looking for those transitional knits! The great sweaters that will see us through the next few months as the nights get chillier but will still be entirely useful under those big heavy winter coats. Transitional knits are not those great chunky knits – these are thinner, more streamline and add an extra layer of warmth without leaving you feeling over heated. They are the perfect items of clothing to buy right now because you can wear it now and you can wear it later! MOMMA LOVES… the cutout trend for peekaboo sexy!

The cutout trend is the perfect amount of sexy for an evening out!

My little guy liked it so much he picked me some flowers to go with my One by Hunter Bell dress!

Showing a bit of skin doesn’t have to leave you over exposed and the cutout trend gives you the power to show as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. The cutout trend includes everything from a little sliver here or a triangle cut there and it’s the new modern way to be sexy while still keeping a bit of edge. While you may think this look is not for you, remember these area of exposed skin aren’t particularly gratuitous and therefore allow you to show as much or as little as you like. If you’re not a gym-a-holic and don’t have abs of steel (such as myself) there’s no need to worry because you can still wear this trend and just show off the forgotten areas (such as your back of side) that you might feel more confident about. the cutout trend is brilliant because it allows you to accentuate your favorite assets in a sexy, tasteful, even elegant way. MOMMA LOVES… crop tops (they’re more wearable than you think!)

Crop tops don’t have to leave you over exposed – layer them over a shirt for a more conservative yet fashionable look or pair them with a high waisted bottom revealing just an inch or two of midriff for a more modern sexy, yet elegant look.

I know you’ve seen them everywhere and thought, I can’t wear crop tops! But you can and they’re far more versatile than you think. You don’t have to be 20 years old and skinny as a rake either! Crop tops have been, well, cropping up all over the place and the chicest way to wear them is with a high waisted skirt, pant or even under a pair of overalls so (if anything) all you get is an inch or 2 of exposed mid riff. Not belly button but around the area a couple inches above your belly button. This gives you that great cutout look without feeling over exposed. Now for those of you who still feel like crop tops aren’t for you – my favorite way to wear it is layered over another (longer) top or even a dress. The layered look is incredibly popular and this time of year more than ever! Its during the transitional months between seasons that having items we can wear now and wear later (by layering) are most important! Crop tops are easy to layer over something as simple as your favorite camisole or over a classic white button front shirt! Crop tops layered on top instantly transforms a simple top into something far more fashion forward and interesting. Whether boxy or body conscious, slightly cropped or just under the bust, knit or sleeveless there are plenty of options for every style and level of bravery.
