It’s no secret that I’m a mom and a stylist so a great pair of flats aren’t just convenient – they’re a necessity. I have been a long time high heel girl, so taking the dive into the world of my god given height was frightening at first. But after falling down a step (just one) while pregnant I resolved to put my heels on the shelf for a bit and invest in some flats I could love. It turned out that there is a whole world of incredible heel-less shoes out there, my shoe addiction didn’t have to be squelched for my new more practical style – it just had to look with fresh eyes. Everything from rounded ballet flats to pointed and spikey, metallics, prints, neon colors – there was no end to the fabulous flats available. Yes, there is enough room in the shoe word for fabulous heels AND their often overlooked cousins. Today, I am focusing on the unsung heroes of footwear, amazing flats that do it all in comfort and style.
MOMMA LOVES… some graphic prints
I am always a huge fan of graphic prints – bold and strong they make a great statement without saying a word. A fabulous patterned piece puts a fun twist on an otherwise basic look. Everything from pop prints to florals and everything in between can be considered a graphic prints – it’s all about injecting a bit of eye candy to your wardrobe. Prints have long been popular and can be worn quite simply on their own or clashed, there seems to be an anything goes attitude to these brilliant statement pieces. And of course, as much as I am fan of some crazy patterns for myself, I’m an even bigger fan of graphic prints when it comes to dressing my little guy. A great pattern clash is super chic these days for the ladies but beyond adorable for our mini me’s!! Check out some of my favorite latest and greatest graphic prints and consider adding a pop of something different to your wardrobe.

MOMMA WANTS… a great pair of trousers

These Balenciaga trousers have been a go-to favorite of mine for years. Conservative enough for a business meeting but the tailoring and wider leg give them a cool feminine edge.
The perfect pair of trousers transforms your look instantly to chic and sophisticated. Long and lean, polished yet relaxed they can be wide or slim line but the over look is effortless elegance. Of course the key to a great pair of trousers is the right tailoring – the cut and fit is what makes the look. You can pair them with a camp and blazer, a chunky knit or even pretty blouse or basic tee – its the pants that finish the look. Having a great pair of trousers in your wardrobe can transition you from desk to date in style and with incredible class. They are a must have addition to every wardrobe, whether you’re into the highest heels you can find or the perfect pair of sneakers, these are the pants that inject instant style to your look. Check out some of my favorite must have trousers that can add some wow to your wardrobe.
MOMMA LOVES… round toe shoes

These round toe Chanel ankle straps shoes (with the pearl heel cap) are an oldie but a goodie – I absolutely love how they look on my feet and they simply never go out of style!
I’m tall, so my feet are big, not huge a good 8.5 so I’ve always been a fan of great round toe shoes – they’re sophisticated and sexy but also make my feet look cute and petit. It’s the classic feel of the tried and true mary jane you’ve loved since you were a little girl but a bit more grown up. Round toe shoes is elegant and not clumsy, trendless yet fashionable – and basically alway wearable. Don’t get it twisted, I love a great point heel as well, but there’s something more subtle and gentle about these heels. Check out some of my favorite versions of little round toe shoes and update your look with some of the latest and greatest heels around.
MOMMA WANTS… jewel tone dresses (from the red carpet to my closet)

SAG awards red carpet jewel tones beauties (clockwise from top left) Julianne Moore in Givenchy Haute Couture, Sophia Vergara in Donna Karen Atelier, Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture, Claire Danes in Marc Jacobs and Keira Knightley in Erdem
There was one overwhelmingly evident red carpet trend that emerged at the SAG awards – jewel tone dresses are THE must have! Forget red, blue, green and purple – I’m talking about ruby, sapphire, emerald and amethyst – these colors are rich and expensive and transform a red carpet (and your closet) in the most beautiful way. My favorite jewel tone dresses from the SAG red carpet included Sophia Vergara va va vooming it in ruby red, Julianna Margulies sparkling in sapphire Giambattista Valli, pregnant Keira Knightly glowing in Erdem amethyst, Claire Danes in Marc Jacobs and Julianne Moore in Givenchy shutting it down in emerald. Or course, it took me less than 5 seconds to realize I needed these jewelry box colors in my life, no I won’t be walking the red carpet any time soon – but as much as momma loves a little black dress, I think it’s time to expand the color palette. Little jewel tone dresses for the office, running around town or date night are exactly what my closet is craving. So, thank you red carpet season for reminding me that colors always make a gorgeous statement and that jewel tone dresses are now officially at the top of my wishlist!
MATERNITY MONDAY… fabulous pregnancy style
Maternity clothes don’t have to be awful, in fact a fabulous pregnancy style is the hot new new. If gorgeous celebs like Blake Lively and Kate Middleton (although she’s more of an icon) have taught us anything, it’s that great bump style is the most captivating. Achieving a fabulous pregnancy style doesn’t have to mean being uncomfortable and pouring yourself into outfits that you really shouldn’t – it simply means adapting your personal taste to your new physical frame. It mean embracing your new curves – not fighting them! So, check out some of my favorite fabulous pregnancy style and get your maternity groove on!
MOMMA KNOWS… lingerie for Valentines is a must!

You know I’m not about to post a picture of my in lingerie – so here’s a behind the scenes shot from a shoot I styled a little while ago… We’re bringing sexy back.
Valentines Day is fast approaching and it’s time to get yourself some new lingerie. Very rarely do we spoil ourselves in this way – but this is more of a gift for him as well as for you. Now a days their is a big trend towards lingerie that’s meant to be seen. Once upon a time it was considered tacky for a bra strap to show – but there are so many gorgeous, sexy pieces that are meant to be seen popping out of low cut blouse… That’s right, lingerie doesn’t have to be purely functional or purely for the bedroom – it’s all about finding great pieces that do it all AND can even add a pop of something extra to your outfit (of course some pieces it might be best to save for private). It’s time to invest on some great new underpinnings that may quickly become some of your favorite wardrobe staples (and you’re significant other is NOT going to be mad at that). Check out some of my favorite lingerie and get ready for Valentines Day in sexy style!
MOMMA LOVES… the turtleneck

This chunky Alexander McQueen turtleneck has been a long time favorite of mine – it keeps me warm and super stylish at the same time!
So, It’s the middle of January, and most stores are about to start receiving their spring shipments – but it’s still freaking cold out so a great turtleneck is still on the top of my must haves. Whether chunky or fine, rolled or funnel neck – it always looks chic while keeping me warm. A great turtleneck is your best shield against the frigid winter – it’s one of the so incredible pieces that never goes out of style because of its perfect blend of form and function. Whether body conscious and sexy or oversized and cool it’s the top of the season that you cannot be without!! Don’t get left in the cold (ha ha) make sure you’ve got a great turtleneck (or several) to get you through this year’s polar vortex!
