MOMMA LOVES… kids holiday clothes (cuteness overload)

Last Chrismas, I couldn’t get enough of his little English gentleman look for the holidays…

I absolutely LOVE kids holiday clothes – there is something so insanely cute about our little ones all dressed up. Whether your little ones demand comfort (my little Max cannot STAND to be overly styled or fussy) or loves all the frills and finery – nothing says christmas memories more than little ones in holiday dress. Great kids holiday clothes could be thematic – santa and snowman prints or totally fancied – there are some adorable options to celebrate the occasion. It may sound nuts – but a daytime smoky eye is more about neutral tones like brown and amber that give you that look and feel but in a far more subtle, wearable way. Even that slightly slept in yet subtle smokey eye can work and add drama to your every day look. Strong brows – not big masculine furry eyebrows, but just a slightly bolder brow – think the likes of Cara Delevingne or Brooke Shields’ classic look. Super lashes are in, so time to invest in some new mascara and more is more these days. It’s all about long spidery lashes – certainly on of my favorite looks. Christmas is for the children!! And indeed, Max has a lot to look forward to come christmas morning – and the joy that gives me is what christmas is all about!

Christmas is about togetherness, celebration, lights, trees, santa and gifts for kids! Your little ones, your nieces, nephews, friend’s children and let’s not forget those kids who might otherwise not get presents this year – christmas is truly about the children. Every year their is a hot new Elmo, game system or elsa doll and this year is no different. Figuring out the best gifts for kids isn’t actually that hard because they’ll be the first ones to tell you (and santa and anyone else who asks). I am a sucker for watching my boy tear open a present and get stuck into something new and exciting. He’s just now at an age where he’s appreciating toys and the joy that they bring. MOMMA LOVES… slim knits for layering

The perfect slim knits can layer neatly under a tailored blazer to easy transition you for various temperatures.

simple, yet chic and super easy to wear throughout the day and into evening…

Of course, living in LA this is about as layered as I get these days, but when I lived in London and New York my favorite heavy coat would easily fit over all of these layers!

Yes, I love a chunky cardigan, and being wrapped in an oversized pullover but its those slim knits that not only transition me to cooler weather but layer perfectly under everything from a skim blazer to my puffer jacket and winter coats… These are those fine knit knits that hug the body, look chic (when you take off your outer layer), give you that extra layer of warmth but also allow you to not overheat when you’re inside. They’re simple, elegant, easy to throw on over a little tank or tee and under everything else you put on. Fabulous slim knits may take a backseat sometimes to their louder, bolder, chunky cousins but they are every bit as important come fall and winter weather and they have the added bonus that they can last you through spring…. MOMMA LOVES… great classic pumps (forever)

These Christian Louboutin pigalles pumps are a mainstay (a little bit worn and torn after almost 10 years of wear) in my closet, but they work with everything – they always have and they always will.

I recently rediscovered by Christian Louboutin pigalle pumps… How they found there way in the back of my closet I have no idea! I suppose I’ve been enamored by platforms that give your heels extra inches and the crazy innovative new shoe designs out there that I had forgotten about the tried and true. A great classic pair of pumps are truly the little black dress and blue jeans of accessories – and they worked PERFECTLY with both of those wardrobe staples and so much more. My husband and I had our first alone date night since Max had been born a couple of months ago and as I walked around the house in 2 different half pairs of crazy shoes trying to decide what to wear with my Helmut Lang leather leggings I realized it was those little black pumps that perfectly completed the look. The pointy toe, a bit of toe cleavage and that perfectly acceptable 100ml (aka 4 inch) heel height I had renounced in favor of taller more showy options was once again the apple of my eye. Sure, they’re a bit beaten up – they were in fat my first pair of red soles from almost a decade ago – but these pumps are still 100% relevant, chic and the perfect pair of shoes. Yes, they are a bit worn now, no I will never get rid of them, but I might invest in a new pair to take me through the next decade… Check out some of my favorite new (but always classic) pumps that will last you forever go with everything and NEVER go out of style.
