Last week I talked about the clothes but this week is all about those holiday favorites – the sparkly accessories. Metallic, embellished, beaded, shiny bags and shoes that complete your evening look and sometimes they can even work for day (of a bit of added drama). When one thinks about sparkly accessories the mind goes to jewelry but these days accessory designers have turned your bags and shoes into a different kind of jewelry. No, they may not be made of gold and diamonds but they sure are pretty and they sure do catch the light (in a larger less delicate way). MOMMA WANTS… delicate personal jewelry

Like most kids Max loves to play with my makeup, jewelry shoes – but when his Auntie TTJ comes to town he is ALL about her personal jewelry – her Kimberly McDonald and best friend necklaces are always a favorite!

Tis the season to start thinking about what you want for christmas and personal jewelry is always a winner! Personal jewelry are those sentimental delicate pieces that subtly define you – they’re those necklaces, rings, bracelets that you wear everyday. They become a second skin, and while you don’t register that you’re wearing them you would feel naked without them. Personal jewelry is exactly that, personal, sentimental – not necessarily expensive but chosen with great thought. Whether it’s a simple band on your pinky finger, the little heart earrings you never take out, a necklace with a simple charm – these are the things you bookmark and send to your husband, they are the things you might one day pass on to your children. I, personally, don’t wear a lot of jewelry but the pieces I wear I never take off – my Cartier love bracelets, my Anita Ko diamond spike earrings, me wedding rings – all gifts from my husband, all deeply meaningful and each with a story that makes me smile. Knee high boots are a classic in the footwear world – they are versatile, sophisticated yet cool and a must have for fall. MOMMA LOVES… over the knee boots – super sexy style!

A great pair of over the knee boots (like these Alexander McQueens) are perfect for fall!

Navigating your little ones and their toys can be a bit challenging…

But there are flat options that are more practical and you can save the high heeled versions for date night…

The weather is still warm so it’s hard to believe that fall is around the corner but get ready because over the knee boots will keep you warm, sexy and in style when the cool weather hits! These boots are not for the faint of heart, they are thigh high and incredibly confident. Whether you go for a super high heel or a more conservative flat and whether you go for a boot that’s thigh high or just over the knee is clearly up to the individual, but regardless – these boots are hot hot hot! The key to pulling off over the knee boots stylishly rather than Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman is all in how you pair and wear them. Do NOT put them with a micro mini unless you are a pop star performing at the MTV Movie Awards. The way to wear fall’s hot over the knee boots is to wear them over your favorite skinny jeans, leggings, jeggings or under a sexy yet sleek pencil skirt. If you do wear them with a shorter skirt, make sure that the boots are just over the knee and the skirt hem is only an inch or 2 above that, wearing them with tights also helps to tone down the sex appeal and make it more high fashion. Summer is starting to cool off and it’s time to start looking for those great fall fashion finds for under $100. The autumn winter months are certainly more expensive simply because the fabrics are thicker, richer and we need more layers – so getting great style without breaking the bank can be more challenging!
