MOMMA LOVES… leopard print accessories

One of the most iconic prints of all time is the leopard print. Its feminine yet cool, its lady like yet bohemian and leopard print accessories can add that extra pop of style into even the most ordinary outfit. Adding a bag, shoe even a belt in this animal print adds an extra polish that can turn your walk in the park jeans and t-shirt into brunch with the ladies. It is as wearable for the office as it is for a night out on the town. MOMMA LOVES… peplum

Peplum, for those unfamiliar, refers to when a garment has a short skirt-like attachment which creates an hour glass silhouette. It has made and enormous resurgence recently and can be seen on the runway, on celebrities and in every store for both women and their little ladies. The fit and flare look is always incredibly feminine yet also (conveniently) quite forgiving. The peplum attachment is often featured on tops, jackets, skirts as well as dresses and is simultaneously sexy, sweet and elegant. The silhouette is one part va va voom yet at the same time can help conceal the extra couple of pounds we might have packed on during the holidays – its basically a win win! The key to styling it is to pair a peplum item with something with a slimmer cut (a pencil skirt, skinny pant, fitted top) in order to create the always desirable fit and flare shape. It is equally adorable on our little girls – almost like a toned down tutu. The extra flounce of fabric gives an added girly-ness to any outfit which your mini-me will surely love! MOMMA LOVES… arm candy (cuffs, bracelets & bangles)

I do, I love arm candy. I’m not even talking about my very favorite arm candy (my husband and baby boy) I’m talking about the bangle, bracelets and cuffs that are part of my uniform. Often layered, sometimes less so – this arm candy is a part of my look and it certainly turns something simple such as jeans and a t-shirt or a little black dress into an outfit. So simple yet transformative. I have my Cartier Love bracelets given to me by my before mentioned favorite arm candy which I wear every day and then I love to add to them with Hermes cuffs (my favorite being my Colier de Chien) but depending on my mood or look of the day this can change from rock n’ roll spikes to something far more delicate and feminine. MOMMA PLEASE… sweatshirts for kids

Kids don’t have the same problems as we do as far as what to pair with leggings – those skinny little get away sticks (as my friend hilariously calls them) look adorable with just about anything! You could layer them with a dress, tutu, t-shirt, sweater or sweatshirt… I am focusing this post on the almighty sweatshirts for kids. HAPPY 2014!! #champersandpampers

Happy New Year everyone!! I could not be more excited for 2014 and I hope you all are as well! New trends, new accessories and watching our little ones grow and develop every day! One tradition I’m starting this year is creating mood boards for the upcoming year. Forget resolutions – I want to visualize the future! Its amazing what will come to you when you put the thought out there. Its a fun activity to do with friends and loved ones and it brings on the whole power of positive thinking. Your dream house? Another baby? A new career? A dog? Whatever you want can be yours – just put it out into the universe and see what happens. I am looking forward to a happy 2014 and look forward to sharing great things this year!

MOMMA KNOWS… what tops to wear with leggings

I recently did a post about the best leggings and how to wear them – but I wanted to do this follow up post with the best tops to wear with them. This is a constant challenge – what tops to wear with leggings – trying to find something long enough and with enough volume to compliment the bottom without looking frumpy. The two go -to tops to look for are tunic and oversized sweaters. However, this is where things can start to get messy – always think about the overall silhouette – you don’t want to look like Dorothy from the Golden Girls or like a throw back from the 80′s. The brilliant thing about this look is that it is so comfortable yet it can also be effortlessly chic and stylish as long as you know what tops to wear with leggings. I wore leggings paired with oversized tops with blazers or sweaters throughout my pregnancy and you could barely tell I was pregnant until about 7 months in! So there is the additional advantage that it can hide any extra padding you might have packed on during the holidays and it certainly helped me post baby to mask the non-baby weight! These tops are versatile, chic and compliment the look of leggings or skinny jeans and can easily take you from the park to the office to the date feeling comfy but looking great!

MATERNITY MONDAY – best maternity clothes to start the new year right!

2014 is upon us and for some of us out there (not me!) 2014 will be the year our little one’s grace us with their presence… Until they make their appearance, they are nestled in that little bump of yours – a bump that you might be struggling to dress. My advice when it comes to maternity clothes – keep it simple and comfortable. There are so many great options out there for expectant moms that you can look chic and pulled together regardless of your growing mid section. Maternity Monday is my chance to share with you the best maternity clothes out there to keep you looking like yourself when that’s the last thing you feel like!
