I am all about some great flat booties – with skinny jeans or with a little sun dress the look is super chic, simple and comfortable. One wouldn’t ordinarily consider boots for the summer time but these little ankle versions are great all year round! These flat booties are always in style and therefor, a great investment. MOMMA NEEDS… snow boots (not for LA)

There I am in the frigid London snow rocking my Yak boots – sure I look like a polar bear to anyone in the bathroom stall next to me but they keep me warm and dry and that’s what great snow boots are all about!

Following on my post from last week, I can’t be venturing out to colder pastures without some great snow boots for me and my little guy. Listen, I have plenty of boots but anyone that has encountered snow before knows that your cute little leather booties aren’t going to cut the mustard. Snow boots are the real deal – they’ll keep you insulated so that your toots are warm and toasty and they’re water proof so that you don’t have to worry about the slush… Also very important, they have traction, this comes in very handy on those frozen, icy sidewalks - we’ve all done the slip and slide show in inappropriate footwear – I’m not doing that again! Yes, they are practical, but don’t get it twisted, there is also plenty of room for fabulous! MOMMA NEEDS… biker boots baby!

These Jimmy Choo biker boots have gotten me through several winters – and they continue to serve me well. There’s nothing quite as perfect for both comfort and style! And the more beaten up the get the better they look!

It’s no secret that I live in my pair of (now) beaten up Jimmy Choo biker boots all winter. I bought them when I found out I was pregnant a few years ago thinking they would be perfect – keeping my comfortable but still being stylish and kind of fabulous. I wore those biker boots until the Jimmy Choo plaque came off and I’m still wearing them today, why? because they are still incredibly comfortable and still really cool. They don’t go out of style – they don’t have to be the expensive Jimmy Choo variety and they pair perfectly with jeans, leggings and even (for a more rock and roll look) with a great maxi skirt or mini dress. As a mother I need to be able to chase my son in the park, the shops even just around home so agility and comfort are SO integral… That said, as a stylist, I have strong aesthetic opinions on practical footwear – I have, in the past, rather suffered in heels thas succumb to sneakers. For me, I think it’s ankle boots season all year long but most certainly come fall they are part of my uniform. They perfectly pair with everything from denim to dresses and can service all your fashion needs from playdate to the office to night out on the town. A great pair of over the knee boots (like these Alexander McQueens) are perfect for fall!

Navigating your little ones and their toys can be a bit challenging…

But there are flat options that are more practical and you can save the high heeled versions for date night…

The weather is still warm so it’s hard to believe that fall is around the corner but get ready because over the knee boots will keep you warm, sexy and in style when the cool weather hits! These boots are not for the faint of heart, they are thigh high and incredibly confident. Whether you go for a super high heel or a more conservative flat and whether you go for a boot that’s thigh high or just over the knee is clearly up to the individual, but regardless – these boots are hot hot hot! The key to pulling off over the knee boots stylishly rather than Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman is all in how you pair and wear them. Do NOT put them with a micro mini unless you are a pop star performing at the MTV Movie Awards. The way to wear fall’s hot over the knee boots is to wear them over your favorite skinny jeans, leggings, jeggings or under a sexy yet sleek pencil skirt. If you do wear them with a shorter skirt, make sure that the boots are just over the knee and the skirt hem is only an inch or 2 above that, wearing them with tights also helps to tone down the sex appeal and make it more high fashion. The perfect footwear to see you through all seasons are the shoe booties. MOMMA LOVES… sophia webster shoes on sale!

Its that time of year again – shoe sale time!!! I have featured this young British shoe designer several times on my site and I am constantly amazed by how innovative her designs are. These are not functional shoes – these are desirable shoes – these are, I have to have these, shoes! She has truly exploded – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if Carrie Bradshaw were here she would be having a love affair with her Sophia Webster shoes.
