I have made no secrets about my love for Sophia Webster shoes… My butterfly shoes put a smile on my face every time I walk into my closet… In fact, when I wear them I get stopped every few minutes so that women (and men) can ask me about them, fawn over them and even take their picture… My Sophia Webster’s are quite the celebrity in these parts… Well, these new Sophia Webster shoes have caught my attention and I am completely fixated! They are stunning, innovative, metallic, neon – you know everything I could possibly want in a shoe… These shoes ARE the outfit – jeans and a white tee transformed, your old little black dress brought to life… They are style changers… I just had to share these with you because, well, if I can’t have them (and believe me – I want them – in a size 39 thank you), someone should!!!

MOMMA LOVES… mixed media shoes

My beloved Christian Louboutin mixed media shoes – they’ve got a bit of everything I crave!

You may be wondering what are mixed media shoes? Mixed media shoes basically combine fabrication – so pvc with leather, metal with suede and so forth. The mixing of these fabrics creates for a more interesting, richer more awe inspiring accessory. You may have noticed how much more artistic and creative shoes have been getting and it’s all thanks to the genius designers who are breaking new grounds with their designs by opting for unexpected material combinations. Mixed media shoes are futuristic, referential and for women like me, who obsess over the latest and greatest accessories, they are heaven sent. When I wore my Sophia Webster butterfly shoes out the other day, I literally got stopped every few minutes by people asking about them, commenting and even taking pictures – there is absolutely no doubt that great accessories can make the outfit and greatness keeps getting more inventive with these combined fabrications… Check out some of my favorite new mixed media shoes to get your hearts racing! MOMMA LOVES… jelly shoes – they’re baaaaaaaccckkkk

Jelly shoes are perfect for all your summer outings – chic enough for brunch yet water resistant for the beach – I am loving my Asos and Max has goes everywhere in his Old Navy rubber shoes!

When I was in high school jelly shoes were HUGE and for many years I’ve looked back at pictures of myself wearing those clunky clear things and cringed… Well, they are back and they are chicer than ever!! Hard to believe that jelly shoes could be so stunning, but they are and the practicality of them is the added bonus. I remember having a friend and her 2 year old son over to hang out by the pool – I was admiring her gorgeous new sandals which she had taken off to sit next to me with her feet in the pool and the next thing we knew her little angle had grabbed them and thrown them into the deep end. So much for her gorgeous sandals. Well, jelly shoes are water proof so PERFECT for all your summer outings. They are also perfect for our little ones (I’m going to include various water proof shoes as well) because I, for one, have a little guy that wants to play at his water table, jump in the pool, run into the garden and, while bare feet are great, sometimes the stone around the pool is hot hot hot and not good for his delicate toots. The hot weather means its time for a cool off and time for sandals! Max in his Old Navy flip flops and me in my K. Jacques t-straps will be poolside if you need us!

The weather is warm and its time to pack all those socks in a drawer and bring out the flat sandals for summer. A great friend of mine back in New York would always look at me teetering around the city in sky high heels on location scouts and tell me, “I think it’s time you freed your feet.” I bought a pair of K Jacques St. Tropez flat sandals and never looked back! With the great warm weather ahead we want to be running around outside as much as possible so its time to invest in the appropriate footwear. Great flat sandals are a essential for the months ahead – they lwill give you the freedom to enjoy the great outdoors comfortably and stylishly. I put some sandals on Max for the first time the other day so that he could enjoy playing at his water table and running in the grass while still protecting those precious feet, they’re going to take some getting used to but boy are they cute! Embellished accessories are those bags and shoes that aren’t just form and aren’t just function they are next level. They are closer to art than they are to simple accessories. They are adorned, decorated and whimsical. I am always a sucker for embellished accessories because I know I will love them forever. They’re not classic, but they don’t need to be. They are special enough to withstand the test of time. MOMMA WANTS… pastel accessories for Spring!

Happy Easter everyone – I am loving all the beautiful pastels and thinking its time to break out the pastel accessories! Can’t wait for Max’s easter egg hunt… (ps – how sweet were his little baby booties!)

Easter is just a few days away and I have to admit to being smitten with all the pastel easter eggs I’ve been gathering for Max’s easter egg hunt – and I am now on my own hunt for some fabulous pastel accessories! Everything from sea foam green to lavender, lemon yellow and pale pink these bags and shoes don’t have to have a vibrant hue to capture my attention. So, following up on last weeks post – today I’m featuring some of my very favorite things – neon accessories! As I mentioned previously, I just love a great bold wild pop of color and nowhere does it work better than with accessories. Bags, shoes and jewels are truly what makes an outfit. I’m about to let you in on one of my favorite stylist secrets – nude heels are the ultimate shoe. Beyond the obvious fact that they’re a neutral so they go with everything – they are also the best way to make legs look longer. Think about it – the perfect nude heels give the illusion that legs keep going and going… There’s no cut off, no color block at the end – just legs for miles. As a stylist I have worked with countless models who, let’s face it, don’t need much help in the long legs department, but when working with celebrities who are often petit this little trick always works a charm. The versatility of nude heels is amazing – from a casual jeans and a t-shirt look, to a conservative professional look to a sexy night on the town – these shoes go the distance and always make you look taller and perfectly polished. The heel height is almost irrelevant – choose a pair of nude heels you feel comfortable in and find a tone that most closely matches your skin and voila! Whether you prefer stripy, platform, sling backs, sandals or pumps there are some amazing nude heels that will be sure to give you the legs you’ve always wanted! Think about it, there’s a reason that fashion icons such as Kate Middleton and Anna Wintour have their favorite pairs of nude heels which they wear constantly (LK Bennett and Manolo Blahnik respectively) – because they always work and look chic!
