MOMMA MUST HAVE… wedges – the perfect spring/summer shoe!

My beloved Chloe wedges, perfect for every occasion, comfortable and they double as bookends for Max’s vast collection of baby classics!

My Chloe wedges are one of my best footwear investments of all time! They are timeless, comfortable and super versatile. Wedges are great because they give you that bit of extra height, help you stand taller and yet they’re still very comfortable (unless of course you’re walking on cobblestone). I call them the ultimate spring/summer shoe because they are – perfect to wear with jeans, shorts, dresses, skirts and for every occasion from a walk in the park, a meeting in the office to a dinner on the town. This detail gives the right amount of peek a boo while also looking casual enough for day. The perforated trend will keep you looking cool while also keeping you, well, cool as the days get warmer. My Christian Louboutin shoe booties ended up in Max’s kitchen!

The perfect footwear to see you through all seasons are the shoe booties. Shoe booties are basically cut at the ankle or even right below the ankle – sort of like a shoe but with more coverage like a boot. They can be worn just as easily with a skirt, a summer dress or shorts in the summer as they can with pants, tights and jeans in the winter. Super stylish yet comfortable (depending on your heel hight) they give you a great look while also giving you extra support. Shoe booties are a must have for every wardrobe because they tick all the boxes – fun, fabulous and (wait for it) functional! MOMMA LOVES…. fringe benefits, the hot trend for spring!

Max and I walking the line – a bit of fringe takes an ordinary tee and gives it a style boost.

Fringe was everywhere in the Spring/Summer runway collections and now it’s in every store and waiting for us! Everything from clothes, bags, shoes even bathing suits are featuring this tasseled trend. One part boho chic and one part rocker, there’s no doubt that fringe is a HUGE trend for spring. Whether you want to go all in and rock a fully fringed dress or just dip your toe in the trend water and sport a bit of fringe detailing there is something for everyone and its an easy way to update your usual look in a very modern, wearable way. A classic tee with some tassled detailing, a fringed sandal or bag with your favorite summer dress – it injects instant style into any look. Personally, I am OBSESSED with all the amazing new Gucci fringe accessories – heels, flats, boots, bags – they’re all so amazing it hurts.. Last week I did my post on color block clothes and today I’m featuring some amazing color block accessories for both us and our little ones. I am all about accessories – bags, shoes, jewels – these are the things that transform a look from ordinary to extraordinary and transition an outfit from day to night. Color block accessories are particularly brilliant because they open up a world of options in terms of your color choices and can pop a very simple outfit and take it to another level. Investing in some great accessories allows you to play with a trend in a more safe, conservative way but will also get a lot more wear. We change outfits every day but often times will carry the same bag every day for a year + and not think twice. I always say that great bags and shoes make the outfit and color block accessories are the easiest way to be elegant yet bold. MOMMA WANTS… ankle strap shoes (jimmy choo choo choo baby)

Ankle strap shoes have been very popular recently – it adds another dimension to a shoes silhouette but it also gives us the extra support (and who doesn’t need all the support they can get). The shoes, whether sky high heels, flats, or somewhere in between are the perfect blend of elegance and cool. No matter what style of shoe you prefer there are ankle straps on everything from boots, wedges, sandals, pumps and ballet flats. Ankle strap shoes can give you a bit of an edge while still playing it safe. In our crazy lives chasing kids and getting on with our work or daily errands we need a bit of effortless style and this accessory provides everything you need to be both stylish and even functional. There are plenty of variations on ankle strap shoes beyond heel hight there’s whether the shoes is all over strappy, more delicate and understated in it’s ankle strap or just has one big bold strap at the ankle. Easy to throw on with a pair of relaxed and distressed boyfriend jeans to transform your park outfit to your going out outfit but also conservative enough to wear at the office for an overall chic professional look. MOMMA LOVES… high tops and highchairs!

Max’s high-tops and my Isabel Marant wedge sneakers – its all about high tops and highchairs baby!

High tops are so popular, it doesn’t matter if you’re 2 years old or 50 years old, if you’re a soccer mom or a fashionista mom, these sneakers are hot! They’re comfortable and yes, incredibly stylish! Whether you prefer a wedged high top sneaker (to give you a bit of extra height) or something more streamline and flat, there are so many incredible options that will have you chasing your little one with ease and finesse! They look great paired with skinny jeans or even a maxi dress – celebs have been rocking this look (with the help of designer Isabel Marant’s perfect wedge hi tops) for years. I am no athlete and actually have not owned sneakers for years until this trend hit the big time – now I have my Zara wedge sneakers and I recently invested in the Isabel Marant’s… This is a trend I hope is here to stay – I can keep up with my little one and then, without missing a beat, head out on stylist pulls or brunch with my girlfriends – done and done. MOMMA LOVES… polka dots

Polka dots are hardly a trend and more of a staple. Feminine, sweet and yet effortlessly cool there is something about polka dots that keeps us coming back for more. They’re classic and safe but there’s noting twee about these spots. Now a days they’re more graphic, bold, varied and interesting. Polka dots are great graphic prints which feel safe and familiar yet they can still be strong and modern. Whether you like pretty and preppy or prefer a bit of an edge there are polka dots for every style that can take you from the office to the park to a night out on the town. This print is fun and easy to wear – perfect on our little ladies because they have that feminine youthful appeal but they can still be grown up and sophisticated for us momma’s as well! For the little boys, since they’re is not as much for them in terms of polka dots, I wanted to expand the print to include all micro prints… As the mom of a little guy, I know sometimes it feels as though boys clothing aren’t as fun… Perhaps, its because boys clothes aren’t scaled down versions of our own – but believe me, there are so many AMAZING options for our baby boys that I want to share with you. Max’s Toms and My Louboutins are getting ready for a nod to nautical this summer!

One of the most classic and ever present trends is the nautical look – its clean, polished, elegant and and overall effortless classic. I recently did a post on stripes and thought I needed to follow it up with a nod to nautical accessories. There are just so many beautiful options out there that can add that extra bit of something special to your look. Nautical accessories don’t have to be all anchors and rope – the sailor vibe can be accomplished with something striped or a simple as anything red, white and/or blue color. The look feels fresh, yet safe and easy to wear. Nautical accessories will always be in vogue because by their very simplicity are definitively chic.
